The Designs

In designing this style of sunglasses, we wanted it to be so much more than just another pair of kitschy party sunglasses. We first chose an amazing, highly skilled and ethically run overseas manufacturer that we have a 12 year relationship with. It is of utmost importance for us to work with ethical.

Frames: instead of going the cheapest route, we chose some of the highest quality materials available. The frames are made of TR90, an extremely durable, strong and lightweight thermoplastic that is light, flexible, and highly durable to both impact and stress. The nose pads are a comfortable molded plastic with steel inside to make them adjustable and comfortable on most any face shape. 

Lenses: Space Banana sunglasses are available in both polarized and non-polarized versions. While many incorrectly regard polarized lenses as being "better", airplane and other space craft pilots will choose non-polarized styles as polarized lenses can make electronic displays invisible at the right angle. What lenses should you choose? For general sports, festivals, being around water etc, polarized lenses are preferred as they can reduce glare and enhance clarity, while non-polarized versions are best from driving, flying, or anywhere where screens are used for vehicle and/or flight control. All Space Banana lenses also offer 100% UV protection from the suns harmful rays. 

Design: We carefully chose colors, shape, and lens style that was not just super fun and cool, but very comfortable and functional as well. Many wraparound sunglasses have very tall lenses which we have found uncomfortably touch your cheeks when you are smiling or laughing. Since you are wearing Space Banana's, you are going to be laughing and smiling a LOT, so we designed these with a lower profile so that they are super comfortable in all situations.
